Rape:
The crime of having forced sexual intercourse with someone without their consent. See Rape.

Rape Trauma Syndrome:
The emotional and physical consequences one experiences after being sexually assaulted.

Rapid Orgasm:
When a woman climaxes more quickly than her partner and loses interest in continued sex play.

Rectovaginal Exam:
Physical examination of the reproductive organs and the tissues that separate the vagina and rectum. Usually part of an annual GYN exam.

Rectum:
The last segment of the large intestine before the anus.

Refractory Period:
The time after ejaculation during which a man is not able to have an erection.

Reproductive Cell:
The cell (ovum in women, sperm in men), when joined with it’s opposite cell, is capable of reproduction.

Resolution:
The period after orgasm in which the body returns to a nonstimulated state. The last stage in the sexual response cycle. See stages of an orgasm.

Retrograde Ejaculation:
An ejaculation from the prostate into the bladder.

“Rhythm” Method:
An old, not very effective method of birth control. See Calendar Method in Birth Control.

Roe v. Wade:
The 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion.

Role Play:
Acting out a fantasy with a sexual partner.
