Photographs of Common Drugs, so you will recognize them if you see them.
A bit RAM intensive… but worth the wait. These photos are for educational purposes only.

Three forms of Ecstasy (on top of the larger picture), larger than life so you can see the markings on them.
Never mix these with alcohol, it can be a deadly combination! It is a popular thing to do at some college and high school parties (raves)but, don’t do it. If a friend has mixed alcohol and ecstasy or GHB, get them to a hospital and tell the medical people what drugs they took. You could save their life! For more photos of different ecstasy tablets and capsules, see the three pages of photos starting at Ecstasy.

joints     mixed marijuana

“Joints”, marijuana cigarettes, on the left; on the right, several forms of marijuana.
The photo on the right shows loose marijuana, the dark form is hash and hash oil is in the vial.

Valium tablets – 5 mg  *   LSD (Acid) “blotter” or stickers… tainted with LSD *   Rohypnol Tablets
another “date rape drug” The LSD “stamps” are smaller than a dime, btw.
Valium comes in 3 colors (doses): white = 2 mg, yellow = 5 mg, blue = 10 mg

cocaine    crack cocaine    heroin

Cocaine on the left, “crack” and vial, and heroin on the right — 4 forms of heroin.
Heroin

kilo of marijuana   peyote buttons

A “kilo” of marijuana after it was confiscated by drug officials at a US airport. On the right… Peyote buttons – which are a cactus and ground peyote in capsules.

“Magic Mushrooms” are usually the street name for Psilocybin. Below are two photos of psilocybin mushrooms — on the LEFT side. It is a hallucinogen. Psilocybin mushrooms [a.k.a., ‘shrooms, “Magic” Mushrooms] are either eaten in their dried mushroom form or consumed as a white powder. The term “hallucinogen” means that taking this drug causes the user to experience an altered sense of reality. This experience is usually referred to as “tripping.” Used in small amounts, mushrooms can produce a feeling of relaxation and visual distortions. Many physicians say they are safer than LSD. We are not recommending either, just an FYI. The third photos looks like peyote button cacti. BTW, Never eat any mushrooms or cacti you find in your yard or growing outside. These can be very poisonous! If someone does, call a poison control center or get them to the hospital immediately.

Photographs of Common Drugs

So you will recognize them if you see them.

Quaaludes

The photos above are all “downers” and all are prescription drugs in the United States. Just because you find them in someone’s house, or if your parent takes them does not mean you should take them yourself. Never take any medication that was not prescribed for you. These photos are life size.

The photo on the left shows several central nervous system depressants, the second photo is of different benzodiazepines which are anti-anxiety agents, (no, not only diazepam, that is the generic name for Valium), the one above is of Quaaludes. All would have a very sedating effect on you.

You may find them at a party or some of your friends may take them while drinking alcohol, NOT a safe combination! Also, don’t ‘mix these drugs with other prescription drugs.

Prescription pain medications that you might find in someone’s home:

Several forms of Demerol on the left, forms of Codeine of the right.

Uppers” below:

These photos are life-size. You may recognize Ritalin in the left photo, but never take it or any of these unless prescribed for YOU! Some teenagers use some of these stimulants as appetite suppressants for dieting. This is NOT something we recommend for teenagers or anyone.

If you find any pills that look like these, flush them down the toilet so they will not be found by another teen.
