alcohol calculator

(Yes, we are assuming you are of legal age in your country, state and or province to drink).

We all absorb alcohol at different rates. Weight is the main reason, but a number of other factors affect blood alcohol levels. Your body type, metabolism, and any medication you might be taking, not to mention the strength of your drink and if you’ve recently eaten anything, ALL play a role in how intoxicated you become.

For almost everyone, impaired physical and mental acuity arrive around the bottom of that first drink. Drinking responsibly means knowing how alcohol affects you and the amount you can drink without endangering yourself or others. A person with a blood alcohol level in the range of .08 to .10 is considered legally intoxicated, (in most states in the USA) and it takes only a few drinks to get there.

This gizmo will calculate your blood alcohol content based upon the quantity of beverages consumed, the alcohol percentage in each drink, your weight, and the time spent drinking. Your liver can metabolize about an ounce of alcohol an hour or about one beer an hour, but this will vary from person to person and according to your weight.
